Samuel Gassmann, the hallmark of discreet luxury
Born in 1974 in Paris, France, to an artistic family (his father was a photographer, his mother a painter), he studied Art History at La Sorbonne and began working as a curator for many contemporary art exhibitions and as a freelance journalist for Arte’s Metropolis magazine.
He first took an interest in cufflinks while working on a documentary about the last mother-of-pearl factory. This is how, seven years ago, his first collection was launched, a success with Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.
The cufflinks feature unostentatious mother-of-pearl or any other surface that appeals to his creativity, keeping silver or bronze for the invisible links. The whole production is handmade in this Paris workshop and his two annual collections are presented during Men’s Fashion Week both in Milan and in Paris.
Samuel Gassmann also designs rings, keyrings, studs and bracelets.
