Guided Tour “Color in all its Glory”, centered on “Sérusier’s The Talisman, a Prophecy of Color” – Thursday April 18, 2019 at 2:15 pm

Drawing upon the Musée d’Orsay’s exhibit on the founding work of the Nabis movement, The Talisman(aka The Aven River at the Bois d’Amour) by Paul Sérusier, we will have the opportunity of observing the diverse ways of treating color in this profuse period at the end of the 19th century. During this time, impressionism evolved by following scientific, sensitive, symbolic paths. Monet, Seurat, Van Gogh, Gauguin and the Nabis proclaimed, each in his own way, the advent of pure color, opening the door to abstraction.
